Furthermore, the articulating pedals are binder-less, so a rider is not clipped in and less likely to injure themselves if they fall. They are free to move their feet around too, and, if they are going too fast and not feeling safe, they can simply step back onto the "SHOTGUN" snow-brake to slow down.  Demo-Video below
